HemaSure-OMICS direct blood draw blood collection and stabilization tubes from Mawi DNA Technologies are a groundbreaking product for collection, stabilization, and transportation of whole blood samples at ambient temperatures.  HemaSure-OMICS enables isolation of cfDNA, CTC, RNA and gDNA, all from the same sample. Collected cells are maintained intact, making them also suitable for FACS analysis.

Blood is particularly fragile and degrades quickly after leaving the internal environment of the body. A crucial component in advancing our understanding of health and disease, is the isolation of cfDNA, CTC, RNA and gDNA from blood samples. The collection, storage, and transportation of liquid biopsies at room temperature is essential to enable large scale cohort studies.

So far,  technologies to stabilize blood at room temperature contained hazardous formaldehyde or formaldehyde-like fixatives that stabilize cfDNA, cells, or intracellular RNA or gDNA but not all four from the same sample. Moreover, the maximum shelf life of stabilized cells and RNA at room temperature was no more than 72 hrs. To overcome these hurdles and enable widespread and efficient collection and analysis of whole blood, our partner Mawi DNA Technologies has developed the HemaSure-OMICS collection tubes for  room temperature cfDNA stabilization and simultaneous cell preservation:

• Non-toxic stabilization of whole blood; free of formaldehyde or formaldehyde-like ingredients    

• cfDNA (up to 14 days), cells and intracellular RNA and gDNA (all up to 8 days) are stabilized at room temperature in the same blood tube 

• Compatible with manual or automation-enabled kits for purification of cfDNA, RNA, and gDNA from whole blood 

Collected cells are maintained intact, making them also suitable for FACS analysis.
