Encodes the ecto-5′-nucleotidase CD73 (NT5E), a GPI-anchored cell surface enzyme that converts extracellular AMP to immunosuppressive adenosine, serving as a critical checkpoint in tumor microenvironments and inflammatory niches – for research & development in cancer immunotherapy (overcoming adenosine-mediated T cell suppression via CD73 blockade), autoimmune/inflammatory disorders (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, IBD), tissue repair mechanisms (modulating epithelial barrier function) with key advantages including dose-dependent adenosine flux control (vs. static recombinant protein systems) and compatibility with LNP delivery for in vivo mechanistic studies
