Description
Since SARS and MERS coronaviruses are pathogenic, research on them requires bio-safety level-3 procedures which can be difficult to carry out in most commercial and university laboratories. An alternative approach is to pseudotype lentiviral particles with the coronavirus coat proteins. This enables researchers to carry out studies on these viral elements in S2 laboratories.
We offer third-generation replication-incompetent lentiviral vectors expressing the luciferase reporter gene, packaged as viral particles which are pseudotyped with the SARS COV-2 Delta Variant B1.617.2 Spike-Protein 21A/S:478K , which shows enhanced recognition and binding to the ACE2 cell surface receptor to mediate coronavirus cell entry. The particles were functionally tested by Luciferase assay performance (signal increase of at least 10-fold above background) in Cellecta HeLa-ACE2 Overexpression Cells.
This product enables investigators to run neutralization assays and related studies that investigate factors which influence 21A/S:478K spike protein recognition and binding to target cells in S2 laboratories.
